I am surprised at how many websites I come across that fail to provide a fast and easy way for a visitor to connect. What are we here for? If you are offering a product or service, you must provide a way for a visitor to contact you. Providing a visitor with a way to get in contact you is an great way to show that you are real, and are ready to engage in business. By responding, you build relationships, and help eliminate any fearful thoughts of engaging you in business.

During my professional career in sales, the "philosophy" most impressed upon me, was to ask for the sale. A lot of time and effort goes into design and development to present well and make the sale. Taking the opportunity to close the deal is a must in order to be successful.

There are quite a few different ways to engage your visitors. If you have a blog page, the ability to leave comments is a great way to gain feedback, and further build relationships. For most sites, the "Contact Us" page is where the connection is made. Contact forms can be made to gather all sorts of information and leads. Some sites look to complete the purchase with the visitor. The flow to a "Check-Out" process should be inviting, presented clearly and secure. The general purpose of the site is fulfilled at these points. All too often these options are not clearly provided to the visitor other than via navigation, if at all.
